Principle Chiropractor at Urban Heath Alan Scott has thirty years in Chiropractic. He ran one of the busiest clinics in England before coming to the beautiful Gold Coast. He's worked with spinal surgeons, Physiotherapists, Massage therapists, Osteopaths and still mentors other Chiropractors. - So can know you are in safe hands.
Techniques can be important.
With experience comes exposure and mastery of many techniques; From hands on manual adjustments to activator and low force adjustments. We select the right approach for you.
Confidence in results.
We only take your case on if we know we can help. Often we hear of less than spectacular results and the best way to prevent that is with setting realistic expectations and delivering on them.
We're different.
Most people and practitioners look at you from the point of structure, bones, muscles, joints, ligaments and tendons. And whist there are important, often they are not the real issue. At Urban Health we look at you understanding that your brain and nerves are the most important part of your body as they control how everything else responds.
Excellent service. Professional outlook of staff and practice and above all feeling better with each adjustment completed.

I swore I would never use a chiropractor ever again until my doctor told me about Urban Health I had always been ripped off until now. Alan is so professional and his treatment works wonders. For new people you have nothing to lose give him a go you won’t regret it. I couldn't sleep because of pain in my neck now I sleep 7 hours without getting up with pain.

Four simple steps to get you on the road to recovery
1
Discuss
Our warm, friendly team will take the time to learn about you, your problem and how you got here. (During your first consultation with Dr Alan, he'll spend some time to get to know you and guide you through a thorough medical, trauma and lifestyle history to understand your concerns and any contributing work and lifestyle factors that might have prevented your recovery up until now.)
2
Discover
Our detailed physical examination is performed to find the root cause of your problems. The procedures take a holistic approach to understand why your body isn't working as well as it should right now.
It includes a thorough examination of your spine and pelvis and tests your mobility, muscle function and reflexes, supported by digital postural analysis and x-rays (when clinically indicated).
3
Explain
Once all of our findings and x-rays have been collated and analysed we will sit down together and explain what the problem is, if chiropractic care is suitable and what we recommend moving forward.
We aim to correct areas of dysfunction that are causing your symptoms, not just the symptoms themselves.
4
Care
We provide a range of effective Chiropractic approaches tailored to your particular needs and body type. These range from traditional chiropractic adjustments to modern low force techniques.
Chiropractic is commonly associated with back and neck pain. However, here at Urban Health we are used to dealing with a large range of spine and nerve issues.
Back Pain
Sciatica
Spinal Arthritis
Dizziness or Vertigo
Headaches and Migraines
Numbness and/or Tingling
Shoulder Pain
Decreased Range-of-Motion
Muscle Tension
Rotator Cuff Issues
Posture related Issues
Is Chiropractic Safe?
Chiropractic is incredibly safe! It's safer than getting in your car and driving. It's safer than flying in an aeroplane. It's safer than medication for back pain!
But I've heard stories... We know that there are many different opinions out there but the reality is when done by a trained Chiropractor it is safer than crossing the road.
Will you crack my bones ? :)
Like the issue of safety, Chiropractic adjustments are misunderstood. Here at Urban Health we know its important to deliver the appropriate treatment, so we use a variety of techniques depending on what the problem is, the age of the patient and any underlying damage.
Are you Qualified / Registered?
All Chiropractors must be registered with AHPRA, have insurance and be fully qualified. On top of that as Alan received his degree in the UK, he had to undertake extra exams to prove is competence before practicing in Australia.
All Chiropractors also have to keep up with new developments and continuing professional development.
Do Doctors Recommend Chiropractic?
Things have changed a lot and now-a-days many Doctors will refer directly to us. At Urban Health we a very good working relationship with many local GP's that actively refer to us and we get several referrals every week.
Many Doctors now realise that medication and surgery are often not effective at solving the problems that are brought on by modern lifestyle.
Isn't it very expensive?
Our fees are between $55 and $75 per visit and depending the amount of care you may need and length of time we think it may take.
Compared to other treatment spinal issues Chiropractic care is often a lot cheaper than long-term medication or surgery.
The most important question is what price do you put on your health?
